Greenville Business Magazine featuring Upstate Veterinary Specialists

upstate vet in the news

Upstate Veterinary Specialists was recently featured in Greenville Business Magazine's December 2009 issue. The article, "Man's Best Friend", discusses how close the ties are between pets and owners as we all join the fight against cancer. In addition to caring for pets with cancer, UVS co-hosts Paws for a Cause with the American Cancer Society (ACS). The annual charity dog walk event helps to not only raise awareness of cancer in pets but also raise much needed funds for ACS. We hope you can join us for the third annual Paws for a Cause on October 2, 2010.

latest success story

Scrappy, oncology and surgery patient.

Scrappy

Scrappy, a 10-year old, male neutered, Chihuahua, was diagnosed one year ago with spindle cell carcinoma after having his anal sacs removed. Once healed from surgery, the oncology service began treating Scrappy with chemotherapy. The aggressive cancer spread to his lymph nodes, which required more surgery and several changes in his chemotherapy to combat the cancer. Scrappy responded really well to the treatment. We are happy to report that his last ultrasound revealed no evidence of cancer anywhere!
